the recent happenings...

I just wanted to write and say that there are times in motherhood that you just simply have to LAUGH, or you will fall apart and cry...

Lately, Emma has been taking piano lessons with Leann, a wonderful piano teacher. She is learning so much and can play 3 note songs now.
She also likes to serve our family. She was pouring cold water from the tea kettle, and we all had a drink of nice COLD, SOAPY water. Another mom-moment to rinse out mouths with clean water....but look at that innocent face :)

The latest on Brent Aaron Belford is the bad case of bronchitis and 2 ear infections. POOR DADDY!!! He is still such a trouper and plays with the wild children when he comes home.

Noone comes close to daddy in Andrew's eyes FOR SURE!!

The twins: well, let's just say that they take their diapers off all the time. I find them in eachother's cribs at naptime. They smear poopy all over their sheets....even though I put their diapers on backwards and tape them around 3 times. I really don't know how they manage to get them off! I went to a website for desperate moms of twins and found that many go through this horrible case of twins taking off stinky diapers. I now am going to walmart for safety diaper pins.
So, thay concludes the days in the life of ME!!! :) I'm tired, discouraged, yet rejoicing in God's goodness and blessings as well as begging for STRENGTH And much WISDOM!!

Carissa, I will pray for you. You are one of those people that I never picture being discouraged. You are full of joy and love for other people-friends and family. God is faithful. My prayers will be with you my friend!

Glad the girls had their diapers on when they woke up today=) Oh the joy of being a mommy of twins. I think Heston needs to come visit for a while and see what it would be like to have twins, seeing as he still wants thme! Thanks for the decorating tips; I am going to put them into use! We'll get together soon! Love ya!

Thanks for the update, Carissa. Sounds like you're having quite the time...I am praying for you, dear friend! (and for your husband--I hope he feels better soon!) I miss you so much. Love, Anna :)

John 7:38, "He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." Keep drawing on His unending supply!

Oh dear, I can only imagine how you must feel at times trying to keep your sanity during the long days of mommyhood. I know how trying it is to be a mommy of one - how much more trying to be a mommy of four! That's the awesome thing about God's all-sufficient grace. May He be your true source of comfort and strength right now. Love you, hang in there, you're doing a GREAT job. And did I mention you look absolutely beautiful in that first photo? How do you do it? I look like a ragamuffin most days and I need a haircut . . .

Thanks for the "real" post. Sometimes, it's hard to admit when we're struggling, but it's a great place to be in dependance on God. I can't imagine how much you do in a day as a mother of four. I can't believe the girls can get out of their diapers after all that. I would've never thought of doing all those things. Looks like Emma is getting to the age where she is being a little helper. :) Tell Brent to get some rest and we hope he feels better soon.

i'm giggling but only because i'm imagining/remembering one of my girls with her diaper contents EVERYWHERE, and i mean EVERYWHERE. sorry you're going through a rough patch :-( just wanted to pop in here as i have triplets and wanted to share the option to drop me a line any time if you need any encouragement from a fellow MOM (mom of multiples).

hi carissa,

i am glad you can post all that and laugh at it later. i am sure that if i took a video of my life and watched it LATER i would get many more laughs than i do now.

what a mess. i have always heard about kids smearing their poopies al over, but i never saw it. i am SO THANKFUL i don't have that to deal with. i am sorry. wow. my boys just pee all over everything in the name of potty training.

love you carissa. your devotional though was also very encouraging.

Carissa,
Certainly times can be tough and especially when it's to cold to go outside. Just keep in mind that yes God will carry you through and make sure you thank Him for the modern marvel of the washing machines.
May God's grace keep you sane.
